Description:
The Solution Architect will have overall accountability for solution visioning, high-level design and tracking realisation of policy product configuration changes and base layer functionality for various areas such as - The system landscape and the integration of the application into the organisation's application landscape - Being the first port of call for all aspects of the system operationally and strategically - Providing feasibility input for enhancements to existing customer products and functionality hosted on the Duck Creek platform - Providing input into the development of any future customer products and functionality - Ensuring issues that preserve stability and performance of the application are considered as part of all change activities - To be the technical expert on all matters relating to the IT technical stack that the application runs through, including the interfaced systems and lookups - Ensuring all versions, upgrades and operating systems / middleware are appropriately assessed and implemented to maintain the support environment and contractual commitments The successful candidate will have the following skill-set as a minimum: - Strong technical Duckcreek application skills including configuration, product build lifecycle, governance, technical architecture - Strong technical skills relating to relevant middleware, operating systems and Microsoft .NET required to support the Duckcreek application - Detailed knowledge of the Insurance industry domain with either operational or change programme experience in General Insurance - Experience in object-oriented functional design. Key skills would include Use Case development and Analysis Model development and a suitable candidate would have a clear understanding of inheritance principles - A persuasive and authoritative communication style, which is adaptable to gain credence with both business stakeholders and a technical development team; - A strong collaboration-focused work ethic: the candidate should be a strong coach and 'people developer' who sees the overall team-level result as more important than his or her individual contribution - Ability to understand interface-level information flows (i.e. understand the key items of data and purpose, and critique) - Experience in requirements analysis, gathering and definition on change projects. A suitable candidate should be able to recognise a poorly defined, ambiguous, or incorrect requirement and work with its originator to finesse it to the point where it can form the foundation for design work - Experience in managing and coaching direct reports and building team-level self-sufficiency - The ability to resolve disputed technical issues and to build consensus
