Description:
A major US owned insurance company is looking to recruit a Senior Auditor to strengthen its International Corporate Audit department. The key functions of this role will be Participate in audits and Sarbanes-Oxley and Solvency II compliance reviews of various company business functions, incorporating an understanding of business processes, risk assessment techniques, GAAP and statutory accounting principles, and generally accepted accounting and auditing standards. Identify risk and test controls associated with financial integrity, operational effectiveness, compliance with rules and regulations, and system and data integrity. Develop audit plans, programmes and specific tests to evaluate control areas. Analyse findings and test results and arrive at sound fact-based conclusions and appropriate recommendations for problem areas noted. Perform regular business monitoring of several business functions, either on their own or with a manager, by maintaining an ongoing relationship with key members of business management, attending meetings, reviewing documentation. Prepare documentation in adherence to internal audit professional standards, best practices and Corporate Audit’s methodology. Contribute to the preparation of audit reports including recommendations for improvement. Work with the business in evaluating and strengthening their self-assessment programmes. Assist in training and developing others in audit, risk assessment techniques, and accounting principles. Act as a lead reviewer on audits. Applicants will have a professional accounting, auditing, or insurance qualification with experience in either insurance audits, including Lloyd’s syndicates, or work experience in property casualty business or Lloyd’s market, knowledge of risk assessment accounting and auditing principles. IT auditing experience would be a distinct advantage.
