An exciting opportunity has arisen within this organisation's Insurance Ratings Group to focus upon the rating of non-life insurance organisations. This is an opportunity to join a successful and ambitious team, leading to responsibility and recognition for a significant part of the organisation's non-life portfolio coverage. You will take part in meetings with FTSE 100 board members and senior management to develop an in-depth understanding of the companies' performance and strategies. Publication of reports and presentations at conferences will further enhance your profile. With support and guidance from colleagues, you will review each company's performance using public information as well as confidential information gained through meeting and discussions with the company's senior management. You will be responsible for the preparation of an analytical report on the company and present your ratings recommendations to an internal credit committee. There will also be opportunities to contribute towards reports on general insurance topics as well as discussing the company's opinions on the insurance market with investors and financial journalists. Furthermore, through this role you will develop an insight into the capital markets and gain experience in insurance accounting and modelling. This role is based in London with occasional meetings with insurers and investors elsewhere within the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the non-life insurance industry, gained ideally from a solid accounting, underwriting, broking, actuarial or insurance company background. The successful candidate will also have experience in financial statement analysis in addition to strong analytical abilities, a passion for learning and well-honed communication and presentation skills.
