TAKING THE BUSINESS FORWARD
Reporting directly into the International Cargo Manager, as a Lead Cargo Underwriter in our London based Underwriting team, you’ll develop our Marine Cargo portfolio.
This is one of the most senior trading roles in the team, with lots of face-to-face negotiation, seeking out and developing prospects, and will involve international travel to meet customers.
Having one of the largest cargo portfolios in the market this role, in particular, offers career progression opportunities, so you’ll need to be able to grow in your role and deal with challenges ( with great support from RSA, of course ), making great use of your relationship building and negotiation skills – not to mention your ambition.
SO WHAT DO I NEED?
• Thorough understanding of UK and International Marine insurance contracts; principles and practice, shipping, international trade, transportation customer segments.
• Numerate, with strong analytical skills
• An ACII qualification would be desirable
• Available for regular international travel.

WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES WILL I HAVE AS A LEAD CARGO UNDERWRITER?
• Underwriting Cargo risks, and contributing towards our Marine Cargo strategy and business plan
• Ensuring that all policies are accurately and adequately controlled
• Promoting the profile of our Marine operation in the international market
• Establishing and developing strong relationships with key brokers and customers
• Identifying new business and innovation opportunities
